Licensed/Bonded/Registered Contractors

The Chaska Building Department staff will create a contractor registration for your business. Fill out the Contractor Form (PDF) and email it to the inspections department. A contractor access code will be provided to contractors once the Building Department receives the contractor form.

Online Permitting

Right now, you can file for permits that do not require plan review online through our SmartGov portal.  

To file permits that require a plan review, email inspections@chaskamn.gov with PDF versions of the application and corresponding plans. Building, Mechanical, Plumbing and Sewer & Water permit applications can be found under the corresponding permitting page.

Commercial Information & Handouts

A building permit and SAC Determination are required prior to any change of tenant or building use to ensure the new use complies with the City of Chaska's zoning regulations and building codes. If there is no construction work in the space, a "Change of Use" building permit can be filled out and submitted along with a SAC Determination from the Metropolitan Council.
